It was The Grateful Dead in April, then Bruce Springsteen in June. Now Emerging brings you Leonard Cohen’s live show to movie theatres nationwide this September with Songs From The Road.
In 2008, following the celebration of his 40th year as a Columbia recording artist and coinciding with his induction into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame, songwriting legend Leonard Cohen thrilled his fans by announcing his first tour dates in 15 years. Going on to play the most prestigious and beautiful venues around the world, Cohen mesmerized audiences with performances that were hailed as some of the best of his career. A dozen of his most famous songs from those recent world tour performances have been collected on Songs From The Road a forthcoming BluRay/DVD from Sony Music and Legacy Recordings. But before it hits stores, Emerging Pictures is proud to bring Songs From The Road to screens across the country, exclusively at participating Emerging Cinemas.
“When legend Cohen takes to the stage, it’s no less than a cultural event of Biblical dimensions.” – The Independent
This promotional run is the chance to experience for yourself Cohen’s performances at auditoriums, festivals, and stadiums from Tel Aviv to London to the California desert, filmed in HD, projected in HD — It’s the closest thing to having been at the concerts yourself.

And the men they danced on the polka dots, yeah, I hope there is never a closing time for Leornard. His voice and ingenious music has been in every room and car that I have ever owned. Not to mention . . . the tunes have brought me to many many sexual adventures. Thank, Leonard, sexy, provacative and just plain beautiful.

I agree with Les. Why not Seattle? Or more specifically, a theater on Bainbridge Island

How about Tampa? In the past, some theaters were added to the original list. Usually it starts on the east coast and spreads to the Gulf cities. Hope that happens here.

I remember Leonard’s words and music from (dare I say it?) my California hippie daze… and he is more relevant than ever. Now, in NE Florida, I will once again trek to where he is to hear his message of hope.
