IN THE BLOOD is a thriller about family, sexual confusion and fate.  It is the story of a closeted college jock whose deep ambivalence toward his sexuality has kept him from unlocking a hidden inherited talent.  He must confront the deepest parts of himself in order to protect his sister--the only family he has.

Early into Cassidy Clarke's senior year of college, two blonde female students are murdered on separate nights. But Cassidy has something else on his mind. He’s been having nosebleeds at inconvenient times. Strangely, they seem to be accompanied by quick flashes of images in his mind. Is he having some kind of visions?

His younger sister Jessica is a new freshman on the same campus, and since she fits the same description of the two murdered students, she’s plenty worried about her safety. Fooling around with a tarot reading and its portending results does not help.  Cassidy tries to give her comfort. He assures her that he’s not going to let anything happen to her.

Very soon, Cassidy has his own reasons to worry.  The visions are getting more vivid and clearly include the image of Jessica screaming and covered in blood. Perhaps even more frightening is the fact that these episodes seem to be triggered by proximity to good looking guys. He starts to realize that there’s an attraction he has not yet acknowledged.

A failed experiment with a sexy young hustler unleashes his most startling vision so far.  And the next day, the body of another fresh looking blonde girl is discovered.

Meanwhile, Jessica starts to give in to the advances of Cassidy's friend, Michael, in spite of Cassidy’s disapproval.

One night, he awakes from a disturbing dream to find he's not alone in his room.  She has seen them, too – the bloody visions of a screaming Jessica.  She identifies herself as Cassidy’s and Jessica’s Aunt, and reveals that Cassidy might have inherited the family gift—an ability to see the future, but only when in the throws of sexual passion. Desperate to understand his visions in order to protect his sister from harm, Cassidy begins a journey toward understanding his own sexuality.

Tyler Hanes offers a striking debut performance as the sexually conflicted Cassidy Clarke.  James Katharine Flynn is his beautiful, threatened sister, Jessica Clarke.  Robert Dionne plays the seductive Michael and Carlos Alberto Valencia is Victor, the hustler.

Two-time Tony nominated actress Alison Fraser is the mysterious Helen.

In the Blood is Writer-Director Lou Peterson’s first feature film.  Sean Cassity produced through his company, Superstitious Entertainment.
