“John Sayles is an American treasure, who makes eminently enjoyable films for adults that are grounded in great stories, with fully realized characters and a true sense of the time, place and culture from which they spring. Honeydripper is one of his best.”  -Darryl MacDonald, Palm Springs International Film Festival

Oscar-nominated filmmaker John Sayles continues his examination of the complexities of American sub-cultures in Honeydripper- an uplifting fable about the birth of rock n’ roll. Danny Glover stars as Tyrone, the proprietor of the Honeydripper Lounge in 1950’s Alabama. The club is deep in debt. Desperate to bring back the crowds to his club, he announces a one-night appearance by the legendary ‘Guitar Sam.’ But when Sam fails to arrive, he’s forced to turn to a young drifter with a strange guitar to help save the club. The movie also stars Charles S. Dutton, Lisa Gay Hamilton and Mary Steenburgen.
