Why is this series being screened in Oklahoma (for example), but not in Connecticut, where within a small geographic area there is a large audience for this kind of cultural programming? And what about Central and Western Massachusetts, where there are many universities and colleges in a small geographic space?

There are no showings in St.Louis either. The closest is Warrensberg (159 Miles)

These operas show within a 100 miles of Tacoma in Kenniwick Washington. That\’s too far. How in a theater nearer, such as, Seattle, Tacoma, or Olympia Washington. The Met Live in HD shows in these cities. These operas would be a welcomed addition to the Met\’s productions. Personally, many of the operas on this year\’s list are more interesting than the Met\’s.

@ Dave Doss – Thank you Dave. We welcome your suggestions for specific venues to add to our network.
I would like to suggest a venue!
We’d love your ideas for cinemas where we might be a good fit. Note that we cannot screen our operas in venues that are already signed up with the Met Opera, as their contracts are exclusive. Use our contact page to give us your suggestions.

I would like to buy a DVD of one of your titles. When will it become available?

I was looking forward to the Tosca in Nov but I am not sure if it is being shown near me. My closet theater is in Newnan and I don\’t see that listed.
Will Tosca be there??? or anywhere in Georgia

Where can I see the operas, ballets or plays near me?
Visit http://www.operaincinema.com for opera & Shakespeare, http://www.balletincinema.com for ballet, and input your ZIP code or city name into the search bar on the upper-right hand section of your screen. Select “find venues near (city name).” The website will pull up all the venues near you and their complete schedules. Click the date of the screening to see showtimes.

how can we make bigger the number of theatres who carry these wonderful operas? I am happy that small cities can see them but I too do not understand that so many cannot be seen in my big city. Thank you.

I have enjoyed quite a few operas transmitted through Opera in Cinema/ Emerging Cinema at Laemmle theatre in the Los Angeles area. When I checked the upcoming calender, I am very disappointed that the Live broadcasts from the Royal Opera House(ROH) of \”Adriana Lecouveur\” on Friday, October 14, 2011 and \”Tosca\” on Friday, November 4, 2011 are not included on the schedule. \”Tosca\” encore will only be shown in one theater in San Jose, California, which is more than 500 miles from my home. Both performances have stellar casts and received overall rave reviews in the international press.
When I went to the official web site , there is no option for me to write my specific request. Since there are already several Laemmle theatres showing non-Metropolitan operas, I hope the organizing powers would work on making the above mentioned and other ROH operas available to opera lovers.
By the way, I also attended as many Metropolitan Opera HD broadcasts as possible, which are usually at larger sold-out venues. The opera audience is there. However, Opera in Cinema need a higher profile and advertisement to bring in the audience. Weeknight broadcast times are not the most convenient for people who work during the week.
Thank you.

Today I saw a wonderful production of Faust for an audience of 22! Having attended all the Met Opera HD Simulcast performances for the past three years – totally sold out – I was shocked!! I live 4.9 miles from the theatre and it was a friend in New York who told me about your Faust and an upcoming Tosca. This makes no sense!

Please consider showings in the Phoenix, Arizona area. The MET opera series is enjoying a growing audience at the AMC theaters here. Harkins Theaters and Ultra Star theaters are the other theater chains in this area. Thank you!
